13 May 2004 - The Goal was Never Peace Anyway
Iraq is a mess. The US policy is in disarray, Iraq is heading for years of instability and violence if these policies are not changed. Democracy? Well, I don't think it will happen with the current neo-con crowd in charge of US policies. There is only one thing to understand in this: the war was fought for Israel. Forget the numerous pretexts advanced from non-existent weapons of mass destructions that were a non-existent threat to anyone. The oil will never pay for the costs of occupation. The freedom that was supposed to be brought is a fiction as newspapers are shut down, journalists are shot dead or bombed and television censored. What freedom exists where the rulers torture the population? Democracy? They could have held elections by now. But the policy is to set up a government by direct appointment rather than hold elections. Will the elections ever come? Or will there be far too much insecurity in the country? Well, a lot depends on the Iraqi's. So far they have shown a great deal of intelligence. There have been huge provocations trying to spark off civil war. Most Iraqis realise that is the goal of these operations. (killing leading moderate Shia leaders and slaughtering Shia pilgrims). The goal of such operations are the same as the goals of the authors of this war. They don't want democracy in Iraq, they want chaos. You don't start wars, breaking the founding charter of the UN, in order to bring about peace.
Bush may have thought that he was on a mission from God to bring democracy to the Muslim world. Blair may have thought that he was on a mission from God to revive the British imperial mission to "civilise the world" as the new NATO or even UN doctrine. But I doubt it. The implied incompetence is just too great.
The reality is that the aims of this war were set by Israel, they even gave the US army their rules of engagement and trained them. Their aim from the outset was nothing but to beat up on Iraq to keep it on its knees. This because the leading Zionist Jews despise the Arabs and the Muslims. They think of themselves as vastly superior. How else can you justify to yourself the way you rob, oppress and murder them? But God willing this arrogance will be their downfall. So far the Iraqis have not fallen for the provocations. Despite lots of talk of civil war, it hasn't happened. The decision really lies with the Iraqis: will they be herded by various manipulations into violence and chaos, or will they find a united organised voice to take charge of the country?
